Klondike Derby

The Klondike Derby is an outdoor winter competition where Scouts from across the region test their skills against other troops. Inspired by the Klondike Gold Rush, Scouts spend the day pulling a gear-filled sled from station to station, completing challenges and earning points based on their performance.

2025 Klondike Stations will include:

• Cooking

• First Aid

• Maps & Compass

• Search & Rescue

Throughout the event, each patrol must work together to solve problems and demonstrate Scouting skills. For example, in First Aid, Scouts will be given a patient and scenario to treat. In Search & Rescue, they’ll form a search grid and track down clues.

The event runs from approximately 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on a cold February weekend, so Scouts must dress in warm, weather-appropriate clothing to stay safe and comfortable outdoors.
